Can a windows machine get a virus through a virtual linux machine?
Q. I am saying like if i was using the virtual machine and go to a virus filled site can it effect my machine itself the physical one?

A. Only if the virtual machine and the real one are effectively networked together, and you transfer an infected file to your host operating system and execute it (or transfer it via a USB mem stick, CD, etc). Virtual machines are a good way for browsing suspect sites with little risk.
