Good Luck. Damn Small Linux became dormant in 2008 when the developer went on to Tiny Core Linux - http://distro.ibiblio.org/tinycorelinux/welcome.html

my netbook won't boot right (easypc e700?
Q. i have this windows ce netbook. I wanted to put linux on it, but no it wouldn't work right, i've tried vt8500 since i have a samsung arm9 soc and boots the picture, but not the os can anyone in yahoo land help?

A. Which Linux distribution did you try? I looked at the specifications for your netbook and it says it only has 64MB of ram. That isn't enough for most Linux flavors. Older versions of Puppy Linux will work, so will DSL and tiny core. You can find instructions below. If you are new to Linux, it can be difficult use it in a computer with that amount of ram.

which version of linux is best.?
Q. i am doing software engineering in semester .but i want to able to use Linux also.
i have core i5 laptop. so guide me plz.

A. The best for general use as a desktop is ubuntu.
http://www.ubuntu.com/
Install as a duel boot, on a usb or as a windows duel boot install using the wubi file for xp, vista and 7
www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/windows-installer

To learn linux then you also need a minimal Linux like Tiny core
http://distro.ibiblio.org/tinycorelinux/

In between the above 2 is Puppy Linux.

All three can be duel booted with windows XP, Vista and 7 using grub

Puppy Linux installed as frugal, No partitioning reguired. (the recommended way), just a few files on a windows partition, own partition, usb flash or drive, SD card or saves back to a cd. Boot using CD or Grub.
Puppy as a frugal instal is very unusual in the computer OS world.
